The sun was shining as the Mayor of Penwortham, Cllr Tracey Flannery, and her consort, Cllr James Flannery, were honoured to sound the klaxon starting Preston & District Parkinson's sponsored walk on Saturday 5th September. ![]()

50 members of the group, plus family and friends, took part in the joyful event around Preston Docks. Chairperson Kay Poulton and a team of 8 dedicated organisers explained how the group serves people in Central Lancashire, and currently has 230 members.![]()

Kay reported after the event that they have raised almost £5,000 from the sponsored walk. This fantastic amount will be used to support exercise classes available locally which include table tennis, cricket, gym sessions, Tai Chi, dances and circuit training.![]()
