We had a fantastic afternoon last Friday celebrating the end of our Holiday Youth Activities, funded by Penwortham Town Council and delivered throughout the summer with Prime Sports.![]()

It was great to see so many young people and families enjoying the sunshine and getting involved. Our Penwortham Youth Club provided an inflatable football pitch, Prime Sports brought along some brilliant inflatables and activities, and Wild Science joined us with a snake and a selection of creepy crawlies for everyone to meet! 🐍🕷️![]()

We even had a special appearance from Preston North End’s Deepdale Duck, who came along to join in the fun in the sunshine! 🦆⚽☀️![]()

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the afternoon such a success. It was a lovely way to round off a brilliant summer of activities for young people in Penwortham. 💛![]()

Last week, the Mayor of Penwortham, Cllr Tracey Flannery, was thrilled to have been invited to help congratulate the Year 11 pupils at Penwortham Girls' High School, on GCSE Results Day. ![]()

With her mayoral consort and husband Cllr James Flannery, the mayor joined pupils and staff for the very last event of this type in the much-cherished current school building, with the brand new facility taking shape next door.![]()

The mayor said, "A new, exciting chapter is about to begin for the young school-leavers this summer. What a privilege it was to witness the young women receiving their results knowing that they will remember the day for the rest of their lives.![]()

"The significance of this rite of passage for our youngsters felt further amplified as the school building, an unmistakable part of our own mental maps here in Penwortham, will close its doors when the school moves into its state-of-the-art new building. The landscape of Cop Lane is changing for us all. ![]()
