Council Meetings

The Town Council meets at 7.00pm on the first Tuesday of every month, except August. The venue is the Penwortham Community Centre, Kingsfold Drive, Penwortham PR1 9EQ

Details will be displayed on the Town Council notice boards and on the website.

Meetings of the various committees are held when required throughout the year.

Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June 2008

Saturday's list of entertainments ................

12.30pm Procession starts at Hill Road South .... follow the procession up Cop Lane

2.15pm Procession arrives at Hurst Grange Park .... alongside the hundreds of stalls and amusements

2.20pm Mayor opens the Gala and crowns the Gala Queen

2.30pm Bamber Bridge Morris Dancers .... A brand new local morris dancing troupe

2.50pm Sue Ryder Land Girls ...... sing along with the girls to all your favourite tunes

3.20pm Batala .... the world famous Liverpool based drum band show off their incredible skills

4.00pm Mary Whelan's Irish Dancers .... back again by popular demand, watch these amazing youngsters

4.20pm Jim's Band .... a local band playing all your favourite songs

5.00pm Break .... time for a sound check for the evenings entertainment, and just time to nip home for your chairs and picnics

6.00pm The Finalists of the Star of Penwortham ... the finalists of our talent contest all perform one slot each

6.30pm The Winner of the Star of Penwortham ... performing the winning act ... surely a star of the future

7.00pm The Carletons ... a well know local Penwortham band .. as heard on Radio 1

7.30pm Kylie Minogue Tribute ... a special treat for the dads on Father's day

8.30pm Buddy Hollly Tribute .... dance the night away to the legendary sounds of the one and only Buddy Holly and the Crickets

10.00pm Finish ... thank you for coming,, we hoped you enjoyed today's gala and don't forget to come back tomorrow. Please leave the park quietly and take all your rubbish with you ... Thank you.

11.00am Open Air Church Service ... come and enjoy this magical open air service

12.15pm Teddy Bears Picnic ..... bring your Teddy along to one of the largest Teddy Bears Picnics

1.15pm Afternoon's entratinment ... a variety of stars to keep you entertained all afternoon

3.00pm Hesketh Silver Band ... close the event with a relaxing day, basking in the sunshine listening to the glorious sound of the famous band.
