Penwortham Town Council

The Penwortham Town Council website aims to provide a comprehensive reference point for all our residents, businesses and visitors to the area. We also offer access to Town Council information including details of your nearest councillor, agendas and public meetings. The Town Council has primary responsibility for Hill Road Cemetery, Penwortham War Memorial, Penwortham Community Centre, The Bridge Inn allotment site and the numerous community events held throughout the year in Penwortham.

Penwortham Town Council are currently undertaking the writing of a Penwortham Neighbourhood Development Plan

The next phase of the consultation execise involves the creation of a Penwortham List of local properties of buildings within Penwortham that we feel should be afforded a level of protection;

The Penwortham List can be read here (click here) and includes a list of properties and the reasoning behind the inclusion. If you wish to comment on the list or feel that further properties should be included then please contact the Town Council on 01772 750533, or email info@penworthamtowncouncil.gov.uk 


Following the initial consulation exercise the policies are now being written. Once prepared the Penwortham NDP will then be consulted upon once again.

 Councillor David Howarth accepted the role of Penwortham Town Mayor on the 19th May 2015 and said that he was both delighted and honoured to be asked to carry out the Mayoral duties for the forthcoming year. Councillor Howarth thanked the council and indicated that his chosen charities for the forthcoming year would be;

Galloway's Society for the Blind and St Catherine's Hospice

Council Meetings

  • The Town Council meets at 7:00pm on the first Tuesday of each month at Penwortham Community Centre, Kingsfold Drive, Penwortham PR1 9EQ

    Details will be displayed on the Town Council notice boards and on the website.

    Meetings of the various committees are held when required throughout the year.

    All Penwortham Town Council meetings are open to the public.
